Voice
Rachel Wilkins Pfeiffer holds an MA in Music Pedagogy from Texas Woman's University, where she served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Voice Area and was the 2021-2022 Concerto Competition Winner. Her love of learning about music, cultures, and languages is reflected in her undergraduate degrees of a BM in Voice Performance and a BA in Spanish from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has enjoyed a career both in the studio and on the stage in the greater Dallas area and abroad.
Rachel has performed opera roles from contemporary work. Recent performance credits include Maestra and Fortune Teller from Mondo Novo by Paul Richards, as well as Mercury and Uranus from Pluto by Michael Polo, all of which premiered at the Vienna Summer Music Festival in the summer of 2022. Equally at home in an ensemble setting, Rachel has been able to engage with the DFW community by performing with local groups such as The Dallas Symphony Chorus and Highland Park Chorale, and by serving as a Choral Scholar at North Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX.
A resident of Dallas, TX, Rachel regularly engages in the community as a performer, teacher, and organizational leader. President and a founder of the Northern Texas Chapter of Pan American Vocology Association, Rachel hopes that her special interest in Vocology as a field will serve to synthesize knowledge from the many facets of voice expertise for the betterment of all voice disciplines.
For Rachel, nothing is more rewarding than guiding her students towards free and authentic expression with their voices. It is beautiful to witness students' discovery of the qualities and abilities that make each of their instruments unique. Rachel established Orchid Vocal Studios in 2018 because she wanted to devote herself to assisting singers in this process. She continues to teach privately under that name in Plano ISD, Carrolton-Farmer's Branch ISD, and the homes of students in the North Dallas area.
