Andy has written, produced and performed countless original compositions including theme music for a pilot television show and documentary film. He has arranged for a variety of other artists in the styles of jazz, r&b, pop, rock and other contemporary styles. His arrangement of an original composition by world renowned jazz artist, Kurt Rosenwinkel, was performed by the Grammy award winning, University of North Texas One O’clock Lab Band and Kurt Rosenwinkel in the Spring of 2010.

Being accomplished in many styles of music including jazz, classical, rock and r&b, Andy performs regularly in the DFW area and has performed and recorded with artists from Nashville, Miami and Washington D.C. as well.

Andy believes first and foremost in supporting and developing what musically inspires a student. In order to fully develop control, understanding of a style’s musical language and overall musicianship, it is important to focus on several aspects of music. This includes working on reading (for most students), scale and harmonic knowledge/function, rhythm and ear training (all of which falls under the umbrella of technique and music theory), and finally performance skills.
