Nick Bober began studying guitar at age 11 in the piney woods of East TX. By the age of 13, he was composing and performing regularly at school and other local venues playing folk, rock, and country music. After finishing high school, Nick took a guitar class at the University of Texas at Dallas and fell in love with classical guitar.

He continued studying classical guitar as well as music composition and piano at Collin College where he received several scholarships for his performances and original pieces. During this time, Nick began teaching private guitar lessons and performing at weddings, parties, and other events. After earning his associates degree, he transferred to the University of North Texas where he studied guitar with Tom Johnson and pursued a bachelor's and master's degree in music composition. At UNT, Nick received awards, scholarships, and grants including The Richard Faulk Composition Scholarship, Outstanding Undergraduate Composition Student Award, The Toulouse Scholarship, and The Toulouse Thesis Award/Graduate Assistantship. During his graduate school days, Nick was also a teaching assistant for the Center for Experimental Music and Intermedia and worked as a mixing and recording engineer.

In addition to being a private lessons instructor, Nick is currently on the music faculty at Richland and Collin College where he teaches courses in music technology, music theory, and classical piano. He is also the recording engineer for the Richland College of Music. Over the course of his teaching career, he has taught guitar to students ages 5 to adult and genres ranging from classical to rock, blues, bluegrass, country, and folk. He tailors the lessons to the individual student and his or her specific interests while challenging the student to grow musically. He also teaches bluegrass banjo and beginner piano lessons.
