Alan Lorton grew up around generations of accomplished musicians, including his great-grandfather (pipe organ) and his grandmother, aunt, and mother (pianists). So it should have come as no surprise that Alan was drawn to follow in their footsteps. He began guitar lessons early and upon obtaining a guitar of his own, it was love at first sight. The rest, as they say, was history.
While attending the University of Texas at Dallas, Alan studied under the tutelage of influential composers and performers of the modern classical era, while teaching his own students in order to support his studies in composition and music theory. Upon graduation, Alan traveled extensively, honing his skills writing music, performing, and above all: practice, practice, practicing.
Alan believes that everyone has musical talent. He has taught beginner through advanced players and instills in his students the confidence to reach their goals in music. Lesson plans are tailored to unique needs, interests, and goals of each individual student. Alan currently teaches piano lessons to beginning students, and guitar lessons to students of all skill levels.
