David Dang is an Asian-American musician and educator who was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States at age four. He grew up in Tucson, Arizona and moved to the DFW area in April 1999. He has over 25 years of experience in teaching piano and voice to students of all ages and skill levels and in all musical styles. David’s musical journey started at age 8 when his father began teaching him the basics of playing the piano and singing. He accepted his first piano student at age 16, and that’s when he discovered his passion for teaching.

During his undergraduate years, David achieved Finalist status in the University of Arizona’s President's Music Competition and won the 2nd place prize at the Arizona Music Teachers National Association Competition (Collegiate Division). After studying with Rex Woods (piano) and Paula Fan (vocal coaching and instrumental accompaniment), David graduated from the University of Arizona in 1994 with a Bachelor of Music Degree Cum Laude.

David's professional career encompasses positions including the University of Arizona School of Music Vocal Coaching / Instrumental Accompanist, Lord of Grace Lutheran Church Music / Choir Director, Music Faculty Educator for the Dallas School of Music, Instrumental / Vocal Accompanist for Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and Lewisville ISD, and Founder and Principal Music Teacher for the Carrollton Music Conservatory. He has also been a longstanding member of the Carrollton Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association.

In addition to teaching music lessons and performing, David also serves as an associate pastor at International Christian Church, and is a graduate of Christ For The Nations Bible Institute in Dallas with an Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Pastoral Studies.

David strongly believes that the relationship formed between the student and the teacher is of utmost importance. Therefore, his teaching style is one of positive reinforcement, heartfelt care, and instilling students of all ages with a lifelong love of music.

David has been married to his college sweetheart for 27 years. He and his wife have two teenage children and a 10 year old dog. His interests include traveling, sports, and cinema.
