Bass, Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello
Millie T. Martin grew up surrounded by the wonderful music programs of Northern Virginia and Fairfax County Public Schools, begining with piano lessons at 7 years old and string bass at 11 years old.
Ms. Martin received her BM degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and received a full graduate assistantship for her MM at Memphis State after winning the string bass audition and working with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. This afforded her the opportunity to teach music theory, sight singing and ear training, and music history at a university level.
Over a lifetime of experience as a professional and studio musician and teacher, Millie has held positions on the faculty of Humboldt State University, World Mission University, and The Harmony Project. She plays all styles of music, from baroque to modern, and teaches students of all ages and skill levels.
In addition to working as a professional musician, Ms. Martin teaches private string and piano students, both online and in-person throughout the DC metro area. She has also designed curricula for FCPS and Montessori schools.
