Antonio Espinal is a DMA candidate in Orchestral Conducting at the Catholic University of America. He is an active pianist and conductor with specialization in opera. He recently conducted the Latin-American premiere of Handel's "Aci, Galatea e Polifemo" in Orizaba, Mexico.

Before moving to Washington, Antonio was the Chorus Master of the Teatro del Bicentenario opera house in Mexico (Leon, Gto). He also spent 11 years working as an opera coach with Mexico's National Opera Company. While living in Los Angeles, CA, his passion for music pedagogy and working with youth led him to start a successful all-girls choir, "Harmonies Girls Choir," which he continued to direct for 12 years.

More recently, he has worked with local opera companies in the D.C. area, conducting multiple performances. Along with his work as a conductor and vocal coach, Mr. Espinal was also a faculty member at the National Conservatory of Music, where he taught piano. During his time as a professor, he taught students of all ages. His piano technique is based on the German-Russian tradition, playing with minimal tension. He loves teaching dedicated students in all styles of music.
