Violinist Vanessa Solis is a native of Ecuador, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree from UESS in Guayaquil-Ecuador, and has been studying violin since the age of 7. In May of 2019 she will complete her Master of Music degree in Violin Performance at the Shenandoah Conservatory, where she studies with renowned violinist Akemi Takayama, She is currently a member of the "Shenandoah Conservatory Orchestra" conducted by Jan Wagner.

Vanessa has had much success in several distinguished competitions in Ecuador such as "Jovenes Talentos I", "Jovenes Talentos III" and "Concurso Conservatorio La Merced." Since the age of 19, she has performed with such ensembles as the Guayaquil Symphony Orchestra, Mexico-Ecuador Symphony Orchestra, and the Mid Atlantic Symphony Orchestra. She has also worked with Simon Gollo at "Nuevo Mundo Festival" in Aruba.

Mrs. Solis has attended master classes with Midori, Dmitri Berlinsky, Benjamin Sung, Roman Revueltas, Emilio Colon, and Enrique Roel. She has worked closely for the past three years with Netanel Draiblate, the concertmaster of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra.

Vanessa has a passion for education and began teaching in 2013 while still living in Ecuador. She has experience teaching students of all ages and of all experience levels. For Vanessa, one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is watching the joy that it gives her students when they play their instrument. She brings a tremendous enthusiasm to her classes, which is passed on in turn to her students.
